Seminar of 3rd grade at 1st Semester
summary of 2022's Yamaguchi Takehiko Seminar
・Manager leader of OGOB(alumnus of this seminar) party
I managed OGOB party at July 3rd helped by Teacher and 4th grade senior. I had a good experience although It was difficult to manage with my academic work .
We basically had a meeting for idea. and communicated use communicative tools(Slack and Line) for status checking and reporting .
First, I Decided the roles of each person.
・liaison officer
・reservation officer
・planning officer
・moderator and money collection officer
But I wasn't familiar with same grade member at that time, I couldn't decide the roles according to their personality.
If I have next time, I tried to considered about each each of personality as possible.
Second, I planed about this party, schedule management about 2 month.
As mentioned above,we had to something to do(study,work etc...) while planning. So, We decided our motto that doing only what we need.(but the management exhausted me...)
When deciding about where and when we party, we contacted. alumnus to their information.
in addition, Tally of participating members, Pick-up and drop-off information, doing list for each roles, survey for participant, Budget calculations... These informathon were very heavy for me.
So,I tried to use google cloud service to manage plan. These tools were very useful because we can always check the latest information.
I instructed the members to see information when you need .
This idea came from my teacher.
Third,consideration about Covid-19. The issue was not able to avoid. I heard teacher about this issue. But at first, We could not afford considering it. Just before the party, I was thrown into a flurry of activity.
I have inconvenienced the participants caused by Urgent contact, questionnaires, requests for antibody testing, etc..
And In my haste, I made a decision on my own without any advice.
I had learned that Importance of scheduling and calmly discussing with members.
PBL that Creating VR content to eliminate anxiety With BIPSEE companies
We tried to create VR content. This PBL meeting was conducted in English, so we could get used to speaking English. This project was an invitation to foreign students. This is the reason why English was used in meeting.
The event was divided into three groups.
Our group came up with an approach to sleep disorders caused by anxiety.

We know exist of VR sleeping in VRCHAT. This content has gradually become popular in some people. So, We considered a system that is more sleep-friendly As shown in the above slide.
We have created an application that uses the HMD to provide support from falling asleep to waking up, just as if you were setting an alarm on your smartphone.
However, I believe there are many concerns with this system.
These include blue light and sleeping comfort. As you can see in the attached slide, studies have shown some effectiveness with regard to using HMDs to sleep. And, we are acutely aware that we need to have the best HMDs available for sleep.
The problems were too numerous to count, and it was very difficult to work on a joint project with my colleagues through a series of meetings and conversations.
However, I believe I gained more experience than just taking a class at my desk and I was able to grow in my constructive thinking and technic for next year.
To approach another way to lead sleep,In addition creating the applications within the HMD, we have created the best pillow for sleeping while wearing the HMD. This pillow also has the purpose of improving sleep efficiency by improving ventilation. As shown in the image below, a small fan can be placed inside the pillow.(However, sleeping comfort is sacrificed.)
However, there are lots of improvement because we were created at no cost in short time.
Problem of small fan hitting the back of the head of the HMD if placed on a pillow. Good ventilation, discomfort around the neck, turning over at sleeping, etc.
We are thinking solution that pillow made by us places pipe rack that is adjusted the height and placed by bed. Placing the fan under the pipe rack where the pillows are placed should allow airflow without disturbing sleep.However, this method can only be used on beds that have an open area toward the back of the head, where a pipe rack can be placed.
We have been able to erase the stereotype that creating VR content is necessarily only software approaches. I think that this is very important.
Communication with students from France
Fortunately, we were able to work with international students despite the circumstance spreading of Covid-19.
We took them to tourist attractions near the university and introduced them to Japanese food. In particular, they raved about the Japanise ramen.
We also invited them to the OGOB party mentioned earlier and enjoyed BBQ and a public bath together. I remember that I had a hard time teaching the rules of the bathhouse to Romane, who is a woman.
Although the conversation was awkward, it was very fresh and I was able to spend valuable time feeling close to English.
